Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has backed Lionel
Messi to win this year’s Balon D’or, saying the
Argentine is touched by God.
According to him, Messi is just a ‘different’ player and is
so blessed that whenever he has the ball, he can do just
anything with it.
Arsene Wenger:
“Messi is touched by God when he has the ball at his feet.
He has a supersonic level of training.”
The 66-year-old tactician who has been Arsenal
manager since 1996 disclosed that for him, Messi is the
best and should win this year’s world footballer of the
year award.
“No doubt (he will win) this year, as he has won
everything,” he said. “For me, he is the best,” he said.
It would be recalled that FIFA released the top three
nominees for the FIFA Ballon D’Or , Puskas award and
coach of the year nominees.
The names of the nominees in the men and women
categories were released via a statement by the football
governing body.
The nominees for the FIFA Ballon d’Or are: Cristiano
Ronaldo (Portugal/Real Madrid), Lionel Messi
(Argentina/FC Barcelona) and Neymar (Brazil/FC
Barcelona).
Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar are in contention for 2015
player of the year award.

Meanwhile, Carli Lloyd (USA/Houston Dash), Aya
Miyama (Japan/Okayama Yunogo Belle), and Célia
Šašić (Germany/1. FFC Frankfurt) are nominated for the
women’s award.
The candidates for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for
Men’s Football and FIFA World Coach of the Year for
Women’s Football awards have also been announced.
